Peter Beaumont: Location of Training Stables

About Us: Location of the Stables

Peter Beaumont's racing stable (pink circle) is situated in gently undulating countryside on the foothills of the Howardian Hills, some 15 miles north of York.  The terrain and peaceful surroundings are ideal for training racehorses.

North Yorkshire Map

The map (left) shows that we are just a few miles from the A19 and the A1(M). The stable has its own horse box and can offer relatively cheap transport to race fixtures. The proximity of the main road network enables us to reach most of the racecourses in the North of England within a couple of hours, so that horses reach the starting gate in good condition for the race.

To reach the stables from York and the SOUTH, use the bypass (A1237) and take the B1363 towards Helmsley.

From the NORTH, use the A19 from Thirsk to Easingwold, turning off into the town centre.

FROM THE SOUTH

From York, when you reach Stillington village, turn right at the T junction and head along the main street past the public houses.

FROM THE NORTH

From Easingwold, turn left towards Stillington at the end of the High Street, where the main road swings right. After three miles, go straight along the main street in Stillington, past the public houses.

ALL ROUTES

Where the road bends left after the pubs in Stillington, turn right in front of a garage towards Sheriff Hutton and Farlington.

LOCAL DIRECTIONS

One mile after leaving Stillington, the road passes through the hamlet of Marton-in-the-Forest (which has about four houses). Within half a mile take a left turn towards Stearsby along a single track road.

Ignore the first sign to Foulrice Farm on the right within one mile (there are three farms named Foulrice and  ours is the second you will see). It is set back about half a mile from the road on the right. At the lane end there are some white stones and some large black wrapped square silage bales.
